“The birth of Jesus, the Messiah, was like this: Mary, his mother, was engaged to Joseph and before he had had sexual relations with her, she was found to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Joseph, her betrothed, was a just man and did not want for her to become an object of public scorn, and he said in his heart, I will send her away in private. He was thinking thusly, and behold, a messenger of ‘YHWH’ appeared to him in a dream and said, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid from taking Mary as your wife, because that which is conceived within her is from the Holy Spirit, and she will bring forth a son and you shall call his name ‘Yeshua’ because he will save (‘yoshiah’) his people from their sins, and all of this fulfilled that which ‘YHWH’ said by the prophets, saying, Behold, a young woman shall conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call his name ‘Imannuel’ which, being interpreted, is God with us. And Joseph raised up from his sleep and did as he was commanded by the messenger of ‘YHWH’ and took unto himself his wife. And he did not have sexual relations with her until after she had given birth to her firstborn son, and he called his name ‘Yeshua’.”
